Hacienda 'The Next Generation!!' I started last year's herald with news of the birth of my gorgeous niece JOY RENITA. It seems like yesterday that she was born, but our lovely Joy is now 14 months old. And guess what little Joy has inherited from her Uncle Gopi?? Yes she is crazy about dogs!!! She absolutely loves them to bits. At her first introduction to a puppy she decided to know the pup better and promptly licked it!! So i guess my future junior handler is here!! Here are some shots of my two favourite girls - Joy & Stella!

SAWASDEE....the
Return! Keeping with the
trend of making history for Malaysia, this is yet another historic moment
as Stella becomes the
first ever Malaysian bred dog to become an
International Champion!! Naturally she did it in style by winning
the Group at both the FCI and AKU shows! As I was unable to go to Bangkok at the last
minute, I must say a HUGE Thank You to my good buddy Lee Kok Hong who took
and showed Stella for me in Bangkok! |

In
the Showring Downunder
Still downunder, we were thrilled to bits when Mal. Ch. Hacienda Heaven Can Wait owned by Dale Berrier, completed her Australian Champion title after taking time out to have a litter. Bubbles became our third homebred Australian Champion!!!

Snow?? What snow?!
Benson was joined in late September by his kennel mate Java - Mal.
Ch. Hacienda Keeping Secrets. In the picture below taken outdoors,
I'm sure they are lying there reminiscing about something called
sunshine which they don't see very often in Canada! |

Wrong Hair... The latest member to join our family this year was Mal. Ch. Jadag Ovaltina from the UK. Xena (Our Warrior Princess) started her show career with a bang, winning Best Puppy in Show, Res Puppy in Show, 3 Best Puppy in Group & 1 CC in her first weekend of showing! Since then she has always been a consistent In Group and In Show winner never having failed to come home with an In Show win! At the recent Eukanuba Cup show she was Reserve Best in Group and she ended the year by winning Best in Group at our final show! We look forward to campaigning her more in 2006 and our sincerest Thanks to her breeder Daphne Graham for allowing Xena to be a part of our lives. |

..lest ye be judged! I had my
first judging appointment this year and judged the Hound Group at the
All Breeds Championship show in Penang. I throughly enjoyed my
assingment, but it did feel
strange to be in the centre of the ring for a change and not in the ring handling a dog! |

Vale Charlie It was with deep sadness that I had to put my Charlie to sleep as he had suddenly deteriorated despite all efforts to get him well again as renal failure kicked in which accelerated everything. Although losing him broke my heart, I really felt I did the dignified thing to let him go without any further suffering. I felt I really owed him that after all he has done for me. This dog put me on the map and was a dog people dream of! I can only pray that I will be privileged enough to own another like him. Charlie had a long list of great show accolades to his name including BIS, RBIS and was Hound of the Year 1998-2000 and No.2 Top Dog ALL BREEDS 1998. He was a dog that taught himself how to free bait and only needed me to lift him onto the table. The rest he did himself as he was a showman EXTRAORDINAIRE!! One of those few dogs that walked into the ring knowing he owned it and looked at the judges to tell them to hurry up and give him the award! He was the first ever Hound to win the title of GRAND CHAMPION when the system was introduced here in Malaysia. Outside the ring everyone (including me) knew that if you didn't watch him carefully he'd cock his leg against your foot and pee on you for sure! He was like a leaky tap!!
VALE CHARLIE, you will always
be my special boy. |
